“I like the immediacy of painting in the great outdoors. The light and shadows change constantly and you just need to adjust along with the conditions.”
Sue Schlabach joined a plein air painting group this past summer. We recently published her landscape paintings that were created while painting outside around Vermont. We asked Sue to share her photos and give us some insight into her work.
From Sue: “Each week we set up our easels along country roads, in farm fields, and at the edge of woods. I learned the value of painting on site, with the risk of wind, insects and various other hazards. My favorite location near, Silver Lake, is a spot close to my house that I pass it all the time. I see it differently now that I’ve observed it so closely.”
