Everyone loves pink … right?

OK—not everyone. But home decor lovers are certainly picking up this color like mad. From pink kitchens and baths to just about every accessory you can think of, pink is a true statement color this season. From light and delicate tones to the up-and-coming magenta blast on the horizon, this color is everywhere.

Too feminine for you? Did you know that pink was considered the perfect color for boys at the turn of the 20th century? That’s right …  the Ladies Home Journal in 1918 wrote,

“There has been a great diversity of opinion on the subject, but the generally accepted rule is pink for the boy and blue for the girl. The reason is that pink being a more decided and stronger color is more suitable for the boy, while blue, which is more delicate and dainty, is prettier for the girl.”
