Step into Lindley Wiesner’s world. As a surface designer and children’s illustrator, Lindley’s art is a playful cocktail of nostalgia, family memories (she’s a triplet!), and her unshakable love for animals—especially the furry, tail-wagging kind. She’s also a full-on holiday megafan, channeling her obsession into pieces that sparkle with magic. Originally hailing from the Chicago suburbs, Lindley sharpened her artistic talent at the Savannah College of Art and Design before planting roots in Washington, D.C. These days, you’re as likely to find her sketching charming characters in her charming studio as you are exploring eclectic museums, combing through quirky shops, or getting hands-on with embroidery, screen printing, and making magic in the kitchen.
Creativity runs deep in Lindley’s family. With artistic grandmothers and parents who filled her childhood with arts and crafts, it’s no surprise that she followed a creative path. Their encouragement inspires both her journey and the stories she tells through her illustrations. Lindley also finds endless inspiration in illustrators whose work sparks new ideas and keeps her artistry evolving.
Her tiny studio is packed with personality and inspiration. Around her desk, you’ll find a curated collection of her favorite projects, colorful design collections, and playful printmaking experiments. She’s surrounded by books, framed photos, crochet animals made by her mom, and a mix of treasures that make her space as imaginative as her art. It’s the perfect corner for crafting illustrations that bring a smile to anyone who sees them
